Mastodons Stop Jags

Fort Wayne, IN – The IPFW women’s volleyball team ran their current winning streak to four games on Friday night, with a 3-1 over IUPUI at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.

The Mastodons improved to 11-5 on the season by the scores of 30-23, 29-31, 30-23, and 30-23.

IPFW junior middle hitter Fabiana Souza (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) led the ‘Dons with a match-high 22 kills. She also completed the double-double with 17 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Nicole Howell (Fort Wayne, IN) registered double digit kills with fourteen.

Freshmen Cynara Martins (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and Peachy Jankowski (Fraser, MI) each chipped in 14 digs.

Setters Lindi Bankowski (Sr/Temperance, MI) and Ashlee Roth (Leo, IN) each put up identical 23 assist, four dig nights.

The Jaguars (5-12) were led by senior outside hitter Michelle Sobocinski (Milwaukee, WI) who had 19 kills and 25 digs, and freshman outside Casey Chrzastowski (Bloomington, IN) who chalked up 21 kills and nine digs.

IPFW will now take to the road on Tuesday night (10/5) to face Central Michigan, and then return home on Wednesday (10/6) to host Bowling Green at 7pm.
