Signs Three for 2005 Season
Fort
Wayne, IN - The IPFW Women’s Volleyball program
announces the signing of three newcomers for the 2005
season.
The Mastodons lost three seniors, Lindi
Bankowski, Lindsay
Brammer, and Janelle Pollard after a stellar season finishing
24-10 and winning the Independent Women’s Volleyball Championship
for the second time in three years. The freshmen class will
include Jessica Miller (6-1/Middle Hitter/Fort Wayne, IN),
Jessica Dominiak (5-9/Setter/Toledo, OH), and Kylee
Hervey (5-11/Outside Hitter/Indianapolis, IN).
Jessica Miller
Miller is a 6-1 middle hitter from Concordia Lutheran High
School in Fort Wayne. Miller led the Cadets to their second
straight final-four state appearance. She was named All-State
two years in a row. Miller plays for Fort Wayne Volleyball
Club and also plays basketball and competes in track. She
was 4th in the state in the shot put last season. Miller
plans on majoring in interior design.
"Jess has Division I volleyball strength and blocking
skills already and with her incredible work habits, I know
she'll contend for a starting position immediately," said
Head Coach Kelley Hartley Hutton.
Jessica Dominiak
Dominiak is a 5-9 setter from St. Ursula Academy in Toledo,
Ohio. Dominiak helped St. Ursula to a 2004 Div. I State
Championship en route to its undefeated 29-0 season. She
also plays for Toledo Volleyball Club. A 4.0 student, Dominiak's
intended major is nursing.
"Jessica has all the qualities of a successful setter.
She's smart and unselfish and delivers a very hittable ball
to her hitters," said Hartley Hutton.
Kylee Hervey
Hervey is a 5-11 outside hitter from Pike High School in
Indianapolis, Indiana. She plays for Team Indiana Volleyball
Club and also runs track. She posted a 14th finish in the
high jump at the Indiana State Meet last season. Hervey
will major in business management while at IPFW.
"Kylee has huge potential because of her athleticism
and attitude. She is accustomed to playing with and against
high level athletes and should quickly adjust to the collegiate
game," said Hartley Hutton.
