IPFW Teams up with Big Brothers/Big Sisters for Fun

Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW Women's Volleyball Team hosted 16 area youth, "Littles" in the Big Brother/Big Sister organization, and its volunteers to watch the IPFW Men's Volleyball Team take on Rutger on April 15. Student-athletes from IPFW women's volleyball teamed up with the children for contests and cheered the Men's Team to victory.

"Our student-athletes are excellent role models and enjoy the opportunity to get to know children in our community. I am not sure who has more fun at these events, the children or our college students," said Head Women's Coach Hartley Hutton. She has been a volunteer matched with an area "little sister" for three years.

The kids also enjoyed a pizza party where the women's team talked about their experience as collegiate student-athletes at IPFW. A fun question-answer dialogue followed by an autograph session wrapped up a rewarding evening for all.
