Volleyball Competes at Ball State Spring Tournament

Muncie, IN - IPFW Women's Volleyball Team competed at the Ball State Spring Invitational over the weekend. The format of the tournament included a best of three games round robin between each pool. IPFW was pooled with host Ball State, Butler, and Kentucky.

The Mastodons lost 15-17 in the deciding game to Ball State after winning the first game 30-25 and dropping the second game 28-30. IPFW then swept Butler 30-19 and 30-24. Kentucky got out to an early lead in the deciding game winning 6-15. The Dons won the first game 30-27 and lost the second to the Wildcats 28-30.

"The matches against Ball State and Kentucky showed our team that we have to be committed to becoming better defensively. That is what is so helpful about the spring season, you learn what you need to spend more time on in practice," said Head Coach Hartley Hutton.

The Mastodons host a Spring Tournament April 16 in the Gates Center. Play with Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green and Butler begins at 11:30 a.m.
