Rips Lehigh in Opener of CSU Tourney
Cleveland,
OH- The IPFW women’s volleyball team made a successful debut,
in the first round of the Medical Mutual
Cleveland State University Invitational Tournament, this
afternoon in Cleveland, OH.
The Mastodons swept past Lehigh University in three straight
games 30-18, 30-21, and 30-20.
Sophomore Fabiana
Souza continues her solid play, registering
another double-double. The middle blocker from Brazil slapped
12 kills and dug up 14 balls in the win.
Kirsta
Solberg (Sr/MH/Huron, OH) was tops in the kill department
for IPFW with 17, and Sarah Leffers (Sr./L/Fort Wayne, IN)
hit double figures on the defensive side with ten digs.
With the win, IPFW improves to 5-3 on the season. They will
face host Cleveland State tonight at 7:30pm.
The
tournament continues tomorrow with a match against St. Francis
(PA) at 7:30pm.
