Souza
and Bankowski Named to Independent Team

TX –Sophomore middle hitter Fabiana Souza and junior
setter
Lindi Bankowski have been named to the Division I
Independent Volleyball Team of the Week.
Souza,
who leads all Independents in kills per game (avg. 4.31)
had a strong week with 58 kills (3.87 pg), 45 digs
(3.0 pg), 20 blocks (1.33 pg) and hit .307 in 15 games. She
had 18 kills, 17 digs and eight blocks vs. UTPA on October
12. Souza recorded double-figures in kills in all four matches
this week, leading the ‘Dons to a 4-0 stretch.
Bankowski
averaged 41.75 assist per match over that undefeated four
game period. She registered 59 assists alone in the
Mastodons’ 3-2 win over Texas Pan-American on October 12th.
Bankowski currently ranks 2nd in total assist and assist
per match (767/9.71).
