Named Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach
(Fort
Wayne, IN) - IPFW
has announced the hiring of Stephen Florio as
assistant women’s volleyball coach.
Florio,
a 1998 graduate of St. Francis College (PA), comes to IPFW
after four seasons as the women’s assistant coach at Hofstra
University (NY). While at Hofstra, he helped lead the Pride
to the NCAA tournament in 1999 and 2000.
"Steve
brings a tremendous positive energy to our staff, as well
as an eagerness to learn about our institution and community,”
said IPFW head volleyball coach Kelley Hartley. “He comes
from a coaching family and is a great teacher of the game.
Our team is truly fortunate to have attracted a coach with
his experience from a first-class program like Hofstra. I
see a very promising future for Steve at IPFW."
In
two seasons at Nassau Community College, Florio was part
of the 1994 Lions team that won the East Regional Championship
and finished as runner-up in 1995. He transferred to Division
