Parker
Kicks Titans Past IPFW
Detroit,
MI - Reigning Horizon League Player of the Week, Mary
Parker, scored her seventh goal of the season as Detroit topped
IPFW, 2-0 Wednesday afternoon.
In sloppy
conditions, Parker converted a drop pass from Alex Moraca from
about 10 yards out. Her blast, in the 22nd minute, beat IPFW keeper
Shannon Lynn to the right side.
UDM (4-8-0)
made it 2-0 at the 35:03 mark by capitalizing on an IPFW foul.
Freshman Jenny
Whaley got the first goal of her collegiate career on the ensuing
free kick.
The Mastodons
(2-7-0) fired three shots on goal in the match but couldn't solve
Titans' keeper Katie Fortenberry.
Lynn kept
IPFW close by making six saves.
With the loss,
IPFW has dropped its fifth straight match. They will look to snap
that streak Friday night, when they host the Valparaiso Crusaders.
Match time at the Hefner Soccer Complex is 7pm.
