O'Connell started 21 of 26 games played averaging 23.8 minutes
per game...She averaged 6.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game...Was
54 of 203 from the field (26.6%) and41 of 150 from beyond the
arc (27.3%)...From the charity stripe she was 13 of 21 (61.9%)...Recorded
95 rebounds, 37 assists and 24 steals in her sophomore campaign...Recorded
team game highs in points (3 times), rebounds (three times),
assists (four times), steals (twice) and blocked shots (once)...Had
24 points against Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2/10/05) as a personal
career best...In te same game knocked down six from beyond
the arc for a career high...Recorded a career high 5 assists
versus IUPUI (12/23/04).
2003-04 Season:
O’Connell was a medical redshirt for the 2003-04 season.
2002-03
Season:
O’Connell averaged 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game…She
started in seven out of the twenty-eight games and averaged 21.7
minutes a game…O’Connell had a season high fourteen points against
Texas-Pan American (2/18/03),Centenary (2/5/03) and Arkansas-Little
Rock (12/1/02)…She had a season high seven rebounds against Centenary
(2/5/03) and Bowling Green State (12/11/02)…Ended the season shooting
63-of-178 (.342) from the field…Beyond the three-point arc she
shot 33-of-112 (.295)…At the free-throw line she led the team connecting
on 25-of-30 (.833)… O’Connell was third on the team with thirty-five
total steals.
Before Coming to IPFW:
O’Connell comes to IPFW from Warsaw, IN. While at Warsaw, she
was named to the All-Conference team for three years, and South
Bend Tribune’s All-Area team. She was also named Team MVP for
three years. O’Connell also received the 21 Alive Player of
The Week honors and participated in the Nancy Rehm All-Star
Classic.
Personal
Born Sept. 30, 1983. O’Connell is an elementary education major.
She is the daughter of Pat and Jonell O’Connell and has a brother,
Nathan, and a sister, Angela.
