Paul Adds Two to Staff
Fort Wayne, IN - Head Women's Basketball Coach Chris Paul has announced the addition of two assistant coaches to his staff. Mahogany Green and Jenny Green have been named as assistant coaches for the 2006-07 basketball season.
Mahogany Green spent three seasons on the Eastern Michigan bench as an assistant coach. Green had been the graduate assistant at Cleveland State from May 2002 to July 2003. Prior to that, she was a professional basketball player in Ankara, Turkey, from Dec. 2001 to May 2002. She also served as an athletic equipment manager at CSU from 1998-99 and worked as a women’s basketball camp administrator for one year and a camp counselor for three years.
A four-year letterwinner as a women’s basketball player at Cleveland State, Green was the team’s Most Valuable Player in both the 2000 and 2001 seasons. She was a two-time, first team Midwestern Collegiate Conference (MCC) selection and was named to four All-Tournament Teams during her playing career: the MCC Tournament in both 2000 and 2001, the Furama Classic at Loyola Marymount in 1999, and the Hampton Inn Indiana Classic in 1998.
She completed her bachelor’s degree at Cleveland State in 2002 with a degree in psychology and is pursuing a master’s degree in sports management/sports psychology at CSU.
"I'm very excited to have Mahogany join our coaching staff here at IPFW" said Coach Paul. "She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, both as a player and a coach to our program. Her work ethic and enthusiasm will be a tremendous asset to us and will allow our program to continue to move forward in the years to come."
Jenny Green attended IPFW and played small forward under Coach Paul. While playing for the Mastodons, Green was a two-year captain and a member of the Division I Independent All-Academic Team for two seasons.
Green completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at IPFW with a 3.94 GPA. She is pursuing a master’s degree in agency/marriage and family therapy counseling at IPFW.
"Jenny joins us after playing four years here at IPFW," said Coach Paul. "She's the hardest working player I've ever been around, and will bring her effort and intensity to our coaching staff. She represents the type of program we're building here, and I'm extremely happy to have her join us on the sidelines."
The Women's Basketball program will be adding one more assistant coach for the 2006-07 season.
