'Dons Can't Get Past Bison

Fargo, ND - The IPFW Women's Basketball team finished off their road trip at North Dakota State Saturday night. The 'Dons were down by two at the half, but the Bison opened up their lead, 79-68.

Only down by two at intermission, the Bison fought back and outscored IPFW in the second, 42-33 to take the win. IPFW had four ladies in double figures while NDSU had five.

Ashley Johnson led the Mastodons with 23 points. This was her third game with 20+ points. Johnson was 8 of 15 from the field and 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. She also put up four assists for the evening.

Juliane Höhne was next in points, posting 14 along with seven boards in just 17 minutes. Höhne was 5 of 11 from the field and 4 of 5 from the charity stripe. She also had a block and a steal.

Tina Moen and Johnna Lewis-Carlisle each posted 10 points in the loss. Lewis-Carlisle also had six boards and five assists.

The Bison had five ladies in double figures, one with a double-double. Brandee Gibbs posted 14 points and 10 boards. Lisa Bue led the Bison in points with 15 and was followed closely by Danni Heintzelman (12 pts.), Kayla Dahlen (10 pts) and Katie Lorenz (10 pts.).

IPFW will be at home for their next two games. On Wednesday, January 25 they will host Butler University at 7 pm in the Gates Center. Saturday (1/28) Longwood will travel to Gates. Start time is 1 pm.
