Huskies Run Mastodons in First
IPFW tries to recover, but falls short

DeKalb, IL -The Northern Illinois Huskies proved to be tough competition in the first half tonight, outscoring the Dons 43-22. IPFW takes the better in the second but can't make up the difference, falling 73-64.

After being down by 21 at the half, the Mastodons fired back in the second, outscoring the Huskies by 12 points but they just couldn't make up the previous deficit.

Johnna Lewis-Carlisle was the only Don in double digits for the night, knocking down 23 points. She was 9 of 23 from the field and 4 of 5 from the charity stripe. This is Lewis-Carlisle's third straight game with 20+ points.

Ashley Johnson was the top defender for IPFW with six boards. She also had eight points and two steals for the night.

The Huskies were had four in double digit points, Stephanie Raymond (24 points), Jennifer Uptmor (12 points), Kristin Wiener (12 points) and Jessie Wilcox (11 points). Defensively Raymond pulled down eight boards.

Overall the Mastodons were only 33.3% from the field and 74.3% from the free throw line. The Huskies were 44.3% from the field.

The Mastodons fall to 2-10 and will host Radford on Saturday (1/7) at 7 pm in the Gates Center.
