IPFW Takes Their Spot in NCAA Rankings

Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW Women's Basketball team ranked in the top 50 in five categories by the NCAA for the first two weeks of play. Sophomore Johnna Lewis-Carlisle broke into the top 30 for individual statistics.

Although the Mastodons are 1-3 going into Thursday contest against IUPUI, they ranked well in five categories by the NCAA.

Three-point field goals made and percentage was a good area for the Dons. Currently they average 6.5 3-pt field goals a game to place them 41st on the list. IPFW currently holds a 38.2% in three point shots, ranking them 38th.

Defense is where the Mastodons ranked the highest. Blocked shots place the Dons in the 24 spot, with an average of 5.3 per game. The Mastodons are currently 47th in the nation in steals per game with 11.5. Wofford holds the top with an average of 17.6 steals.

They currently are 27th in the nation in turnovers, averaging 14.5. Ohio State takes the top spot, only averaging 10.5 per game.

Johnna Lewis-Carlisle came in 25th in the nation in three point field goals per game. Lewis-Carlisle is currently averaging 3.0 three pointers a game. Kari Koch of Southwest Missouri State holds the top with an average of 4.7.
