Mastodons Fall at Tennessee-Martin

Martin, TN - The Mastodons traveled to Tennessee Martin on Sunday in hopes of their second win this season. Only down by 1 at the half, the Mastodons were unable to finish off Tennessee Martin, falling 69-60.

The Skyhawks pulled out to a 14 point lead with just 6 minutes left in the second when the Dons began to fight back. Time wasn't on their side as they fell by nine. IPFW is now 1-3 on the season.

Johnna Lewis-Carlisle led the Dons offensively, posting 16 points, 12 of which were from beyond the arc. Lewis-Carlisle also had four boards, an assist and two steals in 35 minutes.

Hilary O'Connell was also on fire. She had 15 points as well with 12 from beyond the arc. She also pulled down six boards with two assists and a steal.

Juliane Höhne led the game in blocks with five. She also had a steal, three boards and nine points. Natalie Roberts led the Mastodons in rebounds with eight.

For the Skyhawks, four were in double figures with one double-double. Deina Willingham posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards. Crystal Fuller led in points with 15 followed by Andreika Jackson with 13 and Keva Robinson with 11.

The Mastodons pulled down 32 rebounds and had 10 steals and six blocks. Overall they were 36.7% from the field.

The Mastodons will host IUPUI on Thursday. Game time is 7 pm at the Gates Center.

December 11th marks the first Hoopla double-header featuring Purdue, Valparaiso, Northern Iowa and the Mastodons. IPFW will take on Northern Iowa starting at 1:00 pm at the Coliseum and the Purdue/Valpo match-up will follow.
