“Controlled Chaos” Works for Mastodons
Fort
Wayne, IN- The IPFW women’s basketball team used
their exhibition game today against Marian College to show
that “controlled chaos” does work. The Dons topped the Knights
104-53.
For the Mastodons, freshman Johnna
Lewis-Carlisle (Lexington,
KY/Henry Clay) led the team with 15 points, she was 5-8 from
the field and 2-2 from behind the arc. She was followed by senior
Courtney Nicley (Lebanon, IN/Western Boone) with 12 points. Two
other members of the freshman class, Sarah Glowacki (Freeland,
MI/Freeland) and Lindsey Bayer (Norfolk, NE/Norfolk Catholic)
each chipped in 11. Sophomore Hilary O’Connell (Warsaw, IN/Warsaw),
off of a medical redshirt last year, had 10 points for the afternoon.
Junior Kelly
Boyd (North Judson, IN/North Judson) chipped in
7 rebounds for the afternoon to go along with her two blocked
shots. Senior Verea Bibbs (Euclid, OH/Euclid) had four rebounds
and blocked two shots. The Dons stole 26 balls for the afternoon.
They were led by Glowacki with six and O’Connell with four.
For the afternoon, the Mastodons were 38-91 (41.8%) from the
field and 11-31 (35.5%) from beyond the arc. At the line they
were 17-23 (73.9%).
For the Knights, they were led in scoring by Kristi Koselke
with 10 points. Whitney Frame led in rebounds with six.
The Mastodons next game is Friday November 19 at 8:00 p.m. at
the Hilliard Gates Sports Center against the Bowling Green State
Falcons.
