No. 16 Purdue Crushes IPFW, 107-39

West Lafayette, IN – The Purdue Boilermakers, ranked 16th in the country, opened their season with a win over the Mastodons at Mackey Arena.

The Dons were led by senior Verea Bibbs (Euclid, OH/Euclid) with 12 of the Dons 39 points. Freshman Lindsey Bayer (Norfolk, NE/Norfolk Catholic) followed Bibbs with 7 points.

Bibbs also led IPFW with rebounds with seven, Bayer also followed her with five. Junior Jenny Green (Lansing, MI/Lansing Catholic) and freshman Johnna Lewis-Carlisle (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) each recorded three steals for the afternoon.

The Boilermakers were led by Natasha Bogdanova with 23 points and Erin Lawless with 22. Emily Heikes led Purdue with 13 rebounds.

The Dons shot 15 of 92 from the floor and 5 of 32 from beyond the arc. At the line they were 4 of 8.

The next home game for the IPFW women is Thursday, December 2 versus the University of Akron Zips at 1:00 p.m. They are on the road Wednesday at Wright State University with a start time of 7:00 p.m.
