Lewis-Carlisle Named Newcomer of the Year

Fort Wayne, IN – Freshman Johnna Lewis-Carlisle was named Newcomer of the Year as voted on by the Independent Women’s Basketball Sports Information Directors and Head Coaches. Lewis-Carlisle averaged 9.8 ppg and 2.0 rpg in her freshman season.

Lewis-Carlisle was also named to the All-Division I Independent Newcomer team which included Rebekah Fales of Utah Valley State, Brandee Gibbs of North Dakota State, and Dominique Montague and Tynesha Pierce of Texas Pan-American.

Seniors Verea Bibbs, Courtney Nicley, sophomore Ashley Johnson, and Lewis-Carlisle received honorable mention for the All-Division I Independent Basketball Teams.

Academically, junior Jenny Green and sophomore Molly Martin were named to the Division I Independent All-Academic Team. Green posts a 3.92 GPA and is majoring in Psychology and Martin has a 3.31 GPA and is majoring in Marketing.
