Martin Named Newcomer of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN – Sophomore Molly Martin was named Newcomer of the Week for the week of December 20-26 as voted on by Division I Independent women's basketball teams' sports information directors.

In two games (Butler & IUPUI) Martin recorded 22 points, 10 assists, and five steals. In the 70-69 win over IUPUI on Dec. 23, Martin made four career records with 16 points, four baskets from beyond the arc, six assists and two free throws made.

“After having to sit out last year due to transferring, it took Molly a while to get used to college basketball again,” Associate Head Coach Chris Paul said. “Now that she is starting to feel more comfortable, she is becoming a leader on this basketball team. We look forward to big things from Molly as the year progresses.”
