TAMUCC Takes Win Streak to Six after Defeating IPFW

Corpus Christi, TX – Texas A&M Corpus Christi continuing their winning ways as they defeated the Dons with a final score of 80-57. At halftime the Dons were down 37-20 to the Islanders. Although the Dons put in 37 points in the second half, they could not make up the deficit from the first half.

Sophomore Hilary O’Connell (Warsaw, IN/Warsaw) led the Dons with 15 points and four rebounds. O’Connell was five of ten from the field for the evening.

Following close behind was freshman Johnna Lewis-Carlisle (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) with 12 points and three boards. She was 6 of 15 from the field with two blocks and two steals. Freshman Lindsey Bayer (Norfolk, NE/Norfolk Catholic) also put in double digit points for the Dons with 11 and had two rebounds.

Senior Verea Bibbs (Euclid, OH/Euclid) and freshman Sarah Glowacki (Freeland, MI/Freeland) each had five boards for the evening. Glowacki also recorded two steals.

For the Islanders, Kirbria Lewis and Lindsey Van Dorn each put in 14 points and Jackie Ododa put in thirteen. The only double-double for the evening was recorded to Terra Andrews with 11 points and 10 boards.

The Dons at this Saturday, January 29, versus the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State at 1:00 p.m. at the Gates Center.
