Texas Pan-American Finish Dons 70-59

Edinburg, TX – The Dons entered halftime with a three point lead, but the Broncs came back in the second half and outscored IPFW 26-39.

The Dons were led by freshman Johnna Lewis-Carlisle (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) with 18 points, seven steals, and three rebounds. Lewis-Carlisle was 6 of 8 from the charity stripe and 5 of 14 from the field.

Verea Bibbs (Euclid, OH/Euclid), Hilary O’Connell (Warsaw, IN/Warsaw) and Ashley Johnson (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) each chipped in eight points. Bibbs had eight boards and O’Connell put up seven as well. Senior Courtney Nicley (Lebanon, IN/Western Boone) and O’Connell each had two steals.

For the Broncs, MaHogany Daniel had 19 points and six boards. Devin Reed followed Daniel with 14 points and six boards.

The Dons are at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on January 24 at 7:00 p.m. Their next home game is Saturday January 29 versus the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State at 1:00 p.m. at the Gates Center.
