Dons Drop Sixth Straight to Youngstown State

Fort Wayne, IN – The Dons kept it close through the first half, 45-42. The Penguins came out scoring in the second and never looked back, scoring 52 points in the second to finish with a final of 97-73.

Freshman Johnna Lewis-Carlisle (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) led the Dons with 19 points. Sophomore Ashley Johnson (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) followed Lewis-Carlisle closely with 17.

Senior Verea Bibbs (Euclid, OH/Euclid) recorded six boards for the Dons as well as a block and a steal. Lewis-Carlisle also recorded two steals for the evening.

The Penguins were led by Cathy Hanek with 28 points and Barb Fabianova with 23. Defensively, Lauren Branson had six boards.

The Dons are off to Texas with games at Texas Pan American on January 22 at 7:00 p.m. and Texas A&M Corpus Christi on January 24 at 7:00 p.m. Their next home game is Saturday January 29 versus the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State at 1:00 p.m. at the Gates Center.
