Dons Fall Hard to Fighting Illini

Champaign, IL – The Dons traveled to the University of Illinois for a little Big Ten action before their final regular season game. The Fighting Illini took a 26 point at halftime and never looked back, doubling their score for a final score of 86-37.

The Dons were led by senior Verea Bibbs (Euclid, OH/Euclid) with eight points and five boards. She was followed by sophomore Molly Martin (Terre Haute, IN/Noblesville) with six points. Senior Courtney Nicley (Lebanon, IN/Western Boone) scored two points to take her within 12 points of 1,000 points for her career.

For the Illini, Tiffanie Guthrie had 22 points, Janelle Hughes had 16, and Stephanie Chelleen had 13. Erin Wigley was the player for the evening with a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.

The Dons final game of the season is Saturday February 26 versus Texas Pan American starting at 1 pm. Seniors Verea Bibbs and Courtney Nicley will be recognized that afternoon as part of senior day.
