Newcomer of the Week for a Second Time

Wayne, IN – Freshman Johnna Lewis-Carlisle was
named Newcomer of the Week for the week of January 24-30
as voted
by Division I Independent women's basketball teams' Sports
Information Directors.
In two games last week, Lewis-Carlisle averaged 19.5 ppg
and 3 rpg. She also recorded three steals and three blocks.
From the field she was 17-of-30 (.567) and beyond the arc
she was 4 of 10 (.400). Lewis-Carlisle had a career high
27 points in the game against South Dakota State. Against
SDSU, she was 11 of 15 from the field, 4 of 6 from beyond
the arc and perfect at the charity stripe. Lewis-Carlisle
also recorded three rebounds, one assist, one block and one
steal for the game. 
Associate head coach Chris Paul commented, “As the year has
gone on, Johnna has started to figure out what college basketball
is all about. We are very fortunate to have a player of Johnna's
ability here at IPFW."
Other players nominated included Tynesha Pierce, U. of Texas-Pan
American.
