Musketeers Fight Past Mastodons for the Win

Fort Wayne, IN – The Mastodons fought hard for win number two tonight at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center but came up short against the Musketeers of Xavier University with a final score of 68-50.

The Dons were led by freshman guard Sarah Glowacki (Freeland, MI/Freeland) with 12 points. Senior guard Courtney Nicley (Lebanon, IN/Western Boone) followed Glowacki with 10.

Defensively, junior Jenny Green (Lansing, MI/Lansing Catholic) led the Dons with seven rebounds. Freshman Johnna Lewis-Carlisle (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) and sophomore Hilary O’Connell (Warsaw, IN/Warsaw) followed with four boards each.

The first half started off close, until the Musketeers took an eight point run and never looked back. The Dons were behind by 18 at the half with a score of 39-21. At the six minute mark of the second half the Dons had closed in on the Musketeers who then had an 11 point lead.

For Xavier, Kristy Wallner led with 11 points. She was followed by Adeola Olanrewaju with 9. Defensively, Wallner also led with 10 boards.

IPFW’s next home game is Saturday, December 18 at 1:00 p.m. versus the Bruins of Belmont University at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.
