Bruins Finish Off Mastodons, 66-48

Fort Wayne, IN – The Bruins of Belmont University gave the Mastodons their third loss in a row with yet another 18 point deficit. The Bruins finished the Dons 66-48.

The Dons were led by sophomore Molly Martin (Terre Haute, IN/Noblesville) with 14 points including 4 shots from behind the arc. Martin was followed by sophomore Ashley Johnson (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) with eight.

Martin and freshman Lindsey Bayer (Norfolk, NE/Norfolk Catholic) each chipped in five rebounds. Freshman Johnna Lewis-Carlisle (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) recorded three steals for the afternoon.

Belmont was led by Hollie Davis with 24 points. She was followed by Brandi Miller with 18 and Jenny Conkle with 12. Conkle and Miller recorded double doubles, each having 11 rebounds.

The Mastodons are on the road next week with games at Butler University on Tuesday, December 21 at 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday at IUPUI with a 7:00 p.m. start time. Their next home game is Wednesday January 5 versus Detroit at the Memorial Coliseum with a 6:00 p.m. start time.
