Women’s Basketball Falls to Ball State

Fort Wayne, IN- The Ball State Cardinals dropped the Mastodons to 0-3 on the season Tuesday night, at the Memorial Coliseum, with a 93-75 win.

BSU controlled the first half, taking a 17 point lead on a jumper by Kate Endress at the four minute mark, and they would hold a 54-38 lead at the half.

In the second half, IPFW began to cut into that lead with baskets by senior forward Amy Gearalds and junior post Verea Bibbs.

But, Ball State went on an 11-3 in the middle of the second half and coasted to the 18 point win.

BSU’s Johna Goff was the game’s high scorer with 21 points (including a perfect 10-10 from the foul line).

Gearalds led the Mastodons with 20 points. Bibbs chipped in eighteen.

IPFW will now hit the road again this weekend. They will be part of the Saint Louis Tournament.

IPFW will face Arkansas-Little Rock, in the first-round, on Friday night (11/29) at 6pm. They will face either Stony Brook or Saint Louis on Saturday at 6 or 8pm.
