Women’s Basketball Signs Three

Fort Wayne, IN- IPFW women’s basketball head coach Bruce Patterson has announced his recruiting class for the 2004-05 season.

Tops on the list of newcomers in Sarah Glowacki. Glowacki is a 5’7” point guard from Freeland, Michigan’s Freeland High School.

In 2004, Glowacki was named “Player of the Year” by the Midland (MI) News. She averaged 17 points, four rebounds, and 4 assists per game. Glowacki garnered First Team All-Conference status, and was also named Detroit News 2nd team All-State.

She scored a school record 41 points in the district tournament, and led Freeland to the State Final Four, before losing to Michigan Center 52-51 in the semi-finals.

“Sarah is expected to come into the program and compete immediately for playing time,” according to Patterson.

Lindsey Bayer is a 5’10” forward from Norfolk Catholic High School in Nebraska. She averaged 16 points, six rebounds, and three assists her senior season with the Lady Knights.

Bayer was named Associated Press Class “C” All-State First Team her junior and senior seasons. She was also named First Team All-Conference and team MVP.

“Lindsey is an excellent player who led her team to three consecutive appearances in the Nebraska State Finals, “ Patterson said. “She has excellent foot speed, shooting skills, and basketball instincts, “ he added. “She also has demonstrated the ability to excel in the classroom.”

The Mastodons final signee is Natalie Roberts from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City, Indiana.

Roberts was listed by IndianaBBall.com as a Top 100 senior girl in 2004. She helped lead the Lady Eagles to a sectional championship last year, and at an athletic 6’1”, she will give Patterson a number of options.

“Natalie is a player with outstanding athletic ability who can run the floor,” Patterson said. “She can play either inside, or outside, and we look for Natalie to give us solid minutes right away.”
