Falcons Soar Over IPFW

Bowling Green, OH- Bowling Green shot "lights-out" on Saturday afternoon, beating IPFW 91-68, in women's basketball action at Anderson Arena in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The Falcons (4-2) hit 45.5% from the floor, 50% behind the arc, and
95.5% from the foul line in cruising to their fourth win of the season.

BGSU jumped on the 'Dons early, opening up a 20-point lead, with senior guard Stephanie Wenzel doing most of the damage. Wenzel had twelve, on the way to a 51-33 half-time lead.

IPFW cut into the lead a bit at the beginning of the second half. Junior center Verea Bibbs (Euclid, OH) came out and hit four straight buckets, prompting the Falcons to call time-out and regroup.

Regroup they did, building their lead back to twenty and shooting IPFW to their 6th loss of the season.

Senior Amy Gearlds (Beech Grove, IN) did everything she could do to keep IPFW in it will a game high 25 points (five triples). Bibbs added 24 points of her own, going 8-8 in the second half.

Bowling Green had three players in double figures. Wenzel had twenty, Ali Mann registered a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Kelly Kapferer chipped in 17 markers.

IPFW returns to action on Wednesday night (12/10) hosting Valparaiso, in the first game of a men's-women's doubleheader at the Memorial Coliseum. Game time is 6pm.
