Head Women's Basketball Coach Chris Paul has announced the addition of two assistant coaches to his staff. Mahogany Green and Jenny Green have been named as assistant coaches for the 2006-07 basketball season. (more)

Johnna Lewis-Carlisle was named the Independent Player of the Week for the week of February 27th as voted on by Independent sports information directors. (more)

 

'Dons Demolish Islanders in Overtime
The IPFW Women's Basketball team ended their season with a lot of emotion and hard play as they defeated the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders in overtime, 71-67 at the Gates Sports Center. (more)



Mastodons Rout Wolverines
IPFW finished with four in double digits, defeating fellow Independent Utah Valley State 84-60 at the Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday evening. With this win, the 'Dons have won four out of their last five games with one final game left on Friday. (more)



Johnson Named Independent Player of the Week
Five Named to Independent All-Academic Team
Ashley Johnson was named the Independent Player of the Week for the week of February 20th as voted on by Independent sports information directors. Five other Mastodons were also named to the All-Independent Academic Team as well. (more)

 

Johnson Breaks Record in 'Dons Win
Ashley Johnson broke a school record set fifteen years ago on Sunday afternoon at the Memorial Coliseum after the 'Dons defeated the North Dakota State Bison, 77-64. (more)

 

Jacks Run Past 'Dons in Second
Four Mastodons finished with double digits but it wasn't enough against South Dakota State on Friday night in the Gates Center. The Jackrabbits defeated IPFW, 72-52. (more)



Wayne State No Match for IPFW
IPFW took off running and never looked back Tuesday night at the Gates Center against Wayne State. The Mastodons defeated the Warriors 80-51. (more)



Mastodons Corral Lady Broncs
The IPFW Women's Basketball team took a nine point lead at intermission and never looked back, defeating the Lady Broncs of Texas Pan American, 62-46. (more)

 

'Dons Fight Hard at #9 Purdue
The Mastodons finished off their road games with a trip to Purdue University on Thursday night. At Mackey Arena the game was close, IPFW tied the game up at 40, but Purdue pulled away in the end, 76-52. (more)



Islanders Hold Off Mastodon Advance
IPFW rounded out their Texas trip with a stop at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The Mastodons started off on the right foot, fighting hard, but couldn't catch up to the Islanders, falling 64-56. (more)



'Dons Fall in OT by Three
The Mastodons were down by as many as 17 in the first half before fighting back hard to take the game to overtime at Texas Pan American. The Broncs held out though, taking the win 63-60. (more)



IPFW Loses Heartbreaker to Longwood
Longwood University got 34 points from senior forward Ashley Mason, and held off a furious IPFW rally, to top the Mastodons 82-77 Saturday afternoon at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center. (more)



Free Throws Key in Mastodon Loss
Butler had almost twice as many chances at the charity stripe as the 'Dons and made good use of them Wednesday night at the Gates Center, defeating IPFW, 70-60. (more)



'Dons Can't Get Past Bison
The IPFW Women's Basketball team finished off their road trip at North Dakota State Saturday night. The 'Dons were down by two at the half, but the Bison opened up their lead, 79-68. (more)

 

Jackrabbits Speed Past Mastodons in Second
The Mastodons kept in close in the first, the Dons were only down by seven. In the second half the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State sped up their offense and defeated IPFW, 74-53. (more)



Mastodons Can't Get Past Lancers
The Lancers of Longwood proved to be tough competition Saturday afternoon. Although two set career records, the ladies couldn't get past the Lancers, falling 86-69. (more)

 

Valpo Fights Past IPFW
Even when IPFW was down by 23, it didn't stop them. The Mastodons fought hard to chip away at the deficit but still fell short at Valparaiso, 69-52. (more)

 

Mastodons Fight Hard, Fall in Final Second to Radford
A last second shot by Radford ended the Mastodons run at a win Saturday night at the Gates Center. In the last second of overtime Radford put up a shot to take the lead and the win, 79-77. (more)



Huskies Run Mastodons in First
IPFW tries to recover, but falls short
The Northern Illinois Huskies proved to be tough competition in the first half tonight, outscoring the Dons 43-22. IPFW takes the better in the second but can't make up the difference, falling 73-64. (more)

 

Dons Receive "A" for Effort
IPFW faced host Iowa State in the final match-up of the Cyclone Classic. The Cyclones prevailed, 87-68, with the Dons fighting all the way to the end. (more)

 

Mastodons Forge Past Mountaineers
The last time IPFW traveled to Iowa it wasn't so pretty, but against the Mountaineers of Appalachian State, the Dons triumphed. The Dons held the lead at half and kept it the entire second half to defeat the Mountaineers, 74-64. (more)

The IPFW Mastodons fought a tough first half but couldn't keep the momentum going in the second. They fell to Winthrop, 60-44. (more)

IPFW head women's basketball coach Bruce Patterson announced today that he is stepping down from that post, citing personal reasons. (more)



Retrievers Make a Run For It
The Mastodons kept the Retrievers running for the first 18 minutes before UMBC took off and had an 11 point lead at half. The Retrievers kept that momentum going in the second and defeated the Dons, 75-53. (more)

 

Musketeers Too Much For Dons
IPFW traveled to Xavier after finals concluded but the Musketeers were too much, defeating the Dons, 77-49. (more)

 

Mastodons Fight to the End
The Mastodons may have fallen to the Panthers of Northern Iowa, but it wasn't without a hard fight to the end. IPFW fell by 10, 62-52, but were close throughout half of the first and fought back at the end to cut the 23 point lead down to ten. (more)

 

Mastodons Fall to Jaguars
IPFW was only down by 7 at the half, but they were never able to recover from runs by the IUPUI Jaguars. The Jaguars won by nine, 59-50. (more)

 

IPFW Takes Their Spot in NCAA Rankings
The IPFW Women's Basketball team ranked in the top 50 in five categories by the NCAA for the first two weeks of play. Sophomore Johnna Lewis-Carlisle broke into the top 30 for individual statistics. (more)

The Mastodons traveled to Tennessee Martin on Sunday in hopes of their second win this season. Only down by 1 at the half, the Mastodons were unable to finish off Tennessee Martin, falling 69-60. (more)

The IPFW Women's Basketball team took on the Hornets of Kalamazoo College in their home opener at the Gates Center Friday night. The Mastodons made an easy night of it, defeating the Hornets, 98-44. (more)

 

Mastodons Fall to Chippewas
The IPFW Women's Basketball team traveled to Central Michigan for their second game of the season. The Chippewas defeated the Mastodons, but it was a close one with a final of 69-61. (more)

 

Mastodons Fall in Season Opener
The IPFW Women's Basketball team opened the 2005-06 season on the road at Bowling Green State. Although they were only down by 8 at the end of the first half, the Mastodons fell to the Falcons, 78-50. (more)

In their second exhibition game of the season the Mastodons started off right where they left off on the last game, defeating the Knights of Marian College, 73-52. (more)



Mastodons Defeat Pumas in Exhibition
The IPFW Women's Basketball team gave the crowd a great taste of what IPFW basketball is going to be like this year, better and stronger. The Mastodons only gave up the lead a few times in the first seven minutes before taking over and dominating the Pumas of St. Joseph's College, 71-55 in their first exhibition game. (more)
