Eric Burns
Eric
Burns enters his third year as Head Men's and
Women's Tennis
Coach at IPFW. Burns is originally from Hanover, Indiana and
earned
his bachelor of arts from Franklin College in 1999. He was
a four-year letter winner at Franklin College and helped
lead
them to their first ever Heartland Collegiate Conference championship
in 1999. Burns is also a former men's assistant tennis coach
at Franklin College in the spring of 2000 and at Anderson University
in the spring 2001. He was an assistant coach at Shelbyville
High School in the fall of 2000. Burns has received his
master's in higher education sports administration from
Ball State University.
The Women's Tennis team was previously named in 2003 and 2004
as an ITA All-Academic Team (requires a 3.2 team gpa or better).
The Women's team has had 14 ladies named as ITA Scholar Athletes.
The Men's team was named an ITA All-Academic Team in 2004.
Assistant
Coach
Anna Curtolo
Curtolo is a native of Vasteras, Sweden and finished her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management at Boise State in 2006. She was a four year member of the Bronco's women's tennis team from 2001-05.
Curtolo was the team captain for Boise State in 2004-05 and the Broncos were consistently nationally ranked during her four years. Curtolo was named a student assistant coach in fall of 2005 for the Broncos.
In Sweden, Curtolo worked as a tennis coach at the Vasteras-Fridnas Tennis Club from 2000-05. She rounded our her career at Boise State working in the Bronco Athletic Association on fund-raising in 2005.
"Anna's background makes her perfect for our assistant coaching position. She not only has experience as a strong leader on the court, but she has been a leader in other projects off the court," said Burns.
"We had many great applicants, but she clearly stood out. She will be a great addition to our team and I am looking forward to working with her."
