Zbyszewski Named MIVA-POW

Fort Wayne, IN- IPFW outside hitter Matt Zbyszewski (Sr., 6-4,Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Martingrove High School) has been selected as the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the Week.

Zbyszewski scored 41.5 points in IPFWs 3-1 (30-24, 30-26, 23-30, 30-27) win over Rutgers-Newark. He recorded a career-high 34 kills (8.5 per game) while hitting a career-high .537. Zbyszewski added five assists, two ace serves, four digs and three total blocks (two solo and one assist).

He added 28 points the next night in a 3-0 (30-16, 30-28, 35-33) win over George Mason with 22 kills (7.3 per game) while hitting .381. Zbyszewski added four assists, eight digs and four block assists. For his 11 games last week, he averaged 8.0 kills, 1.71 digs and 1.0 blocks per game in leading the Mastodons to a 2-0 start of the season.
