Beachy Three-Peats on All-Independent Team

Brookings, SD - Jenna Beachy finished out her college career as a three-time addition to the All-Independent Team. Three other Mastodons also received an All-Independent nod, Kacie Stone, Kayla Vargo and Katie Aspegren.

Beachy was a repeat on the First Team All-Independent. The senior finished out with a .338 batting average with one homerun and 16 RBIs. She scored 17 runs in 2006.

Stone received her first All-Independent nod, making the First Team. Stone is currently ranked 12th in the nation in doubles, averaging 0.36 per game. Stone finished out her junior campaign with a .319 batting average, three homeruns and 19 RBIs.

Aspegren was named to the All-Independent Second Team and All-Newcomer Team. She compiled a 5.13 record with a 3.32 ERA. Aspegren struck out 117 batters.

Vargo joins Aspegren on the All-Newcomer Team. In her freshman campaign she hit .268 with three homeruns and 26 RBIs. Vargo had a .407 slugging percentage.
