'Dons Repeat Two as All-Academic Independents

Brookings, SD - The Mastodon senior class made repeat performances this year, being named to the 2006 Division I Independent Softball All-Academic Team.

Seniors Jenna Beachy and Heather DeVore were named to the team for the second year in a row. This year they were joined by sophomore Jenna Connelly on the team.

Overall the team features 23 athletes from seven Independent institutions. The overall team GPA was a 3.60.

Beachy and DeVore join seven other athletes as repeat honorees. Connelly was one of eight sophomores named to the list.

The All-Academic team was selected by sports information directors at participating institutions. Nominations were accepted for those who have maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA, are at least a sophomore in athletic eligibility and a starter or key reserve.
