Beachy Receives Independent Nod

Brookings, SD - IPFW senior outfielder Jenna Beachy was named Division I Independent Player of the Week for the week of April 10th as voted on by sports information directors.

Last week the Mastodons rallied, going 5-3, and Beachy was strong at the plate, hitting .481 while going 13-for-27. For the week, Beachy scored five runs, drove in eight, and recorded a .630 slugging percentage with a double and home run.

Against Indiana Wesleyan, Beachy went 3-6 with an RBI as the Mastodons started the week with a split.

In the Butler series she went 4-7 with an RBI. Beachy went 3-7 against Notre Dame College with seven RBIs, two runs and a home run as the 'Dons swept the Falcons.

Beachy finished up her week at Valpo going 3-7 with two runs.

Others nominated included: Lynnae Foshag, North Dakota State; Caitlin Hooe,
Longwood (Va.); and Sara Roskelley, Utah Valley State.
