Vargo excelled on and off the field while at Chesterton High. She received an Honors Diploma. On the field, she was named MVP in 2004 and was the 2005 captain. She was named to the 3rd team All State in 2004 and 05. Vargo was named to the 2004 First Team All Duneland Athletic Conference. She received the mental attitude award in 2004 and 05.
