Beachy Three-Peats on All-Independent Team
Jenna Beachy finished out her college career as a three-time addition to the All-Independent Team. Three other Mastodons also received an All-Independent nod, Kacie Stone, Kayla Vargo and Katie Aspegren. (more)

 

Mastodons Drop Final Two of Season
The Mastodons traveled to Oakland University for their final games of the season. The Golden Grizzlies took the pair, 3-0 and 2-1 respectively. (more)

 

Stone Nationally Ranked, Vargo Tabbed as POW
IPFW Softball's Kayla Vargo and Kacie Stone were honored this week for their performances on the field. Stone is currently nationally ranked in doubles per game while Vargo received her second Newcomer of the Week nod from the Independents. (more)

 

Stone's Double Takes the Win in Extra Innings
The Mastodons faced the Dayton Flyers once again on Monday in their last home series of the season. The Flyers took game one, 2-0. The Mastodons took the nightcap, 11-10 in eight innings after a double to the fence by Kacie Stone brought in the winning run. (more)

 

Flyers Take Two From Mastodons
IPFW faced the Dayton Flyers is a double header Sunday afternoon at the UD Softball Stadium. The Flyers took both contests by finals of 4-1 and 7-6. (more)

 

'Dons Repeat Two as All-Academic Independents
The Mastodon senior class made repeat performances this year, being named to the 2006 Division I Independent Softball All-Academic Team. (more)

 

Stone's Homer Lifts 'Dons to Win
Junior catcher Kacie Stone hit a shot over the left center field fence to take the lead back for the 'Dons in the bottom of the sixth, leading IPFW to the win in game two. IPFW defeated Valparaiso 4-3 in the nightcap after falling to the Crusaders in the opener, 1-0. (more)

 

Mastodons Knock Off Jaguars
The Mastodons doubleheader may have turned into a single game, but the 'Dons outlasted the IUPUI Jaguars in nine innings, 3-1. (more)

 

Beachy Receives Independent Nod
IPFW senior outfielder Jenna Beachy was named Division I Independent Player of the Week for the week of April 10th as voted on by sports information directors. (more)

 

Hoosiers' Rally Late, Ending Game Early for 'Dons
The Mastodons fought hard, but a late rally by the Hoosiers ended the game early during the sixth inning Tuesday afternoon at the IU Softball Field. The Hoosiers defeated IPFW 11-3. (more)

 

IPFW Splits with Valparaiso
The Mastodons traveled to Valparaiso for a second time to take on the Crusaders in a double-header. Valpo took game one, 9-1 in six innings, while the Mastodons took the nightcap, 5-1. (more)

 

Mastodons Sweep Falcons
IPFW took both games today against Notre Dame College in their first sweep of the season. The Mastodons won game one in five innings by a final of 14-6 and game two went regulation, ending with a final of 8-5 in favor of IPFW. (more)

 

Meighen's Grand Slam Lifts 'Dons to Win
Butler starts strong to take game two
A grand slam in the bottom of the seventh by freshman Michelle Meighen lifted the Mastodons to the win in game one with a final of 6-5. The Butler Bulldogs would take game two 12-4 after a rough seventh inning. (more)

 

Mastodons Split Twinbill with Wildcats
The Mastodons split the afternoon doubleheader with the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats Monday afternoon. IPFW took the opener, 2-1 while IWU took the nightcap, 3-2. (more)



Detroit Takes Two from Mastodons
The IPFW Softball team hosted the Detroit Titans for a twinbill Thursday afternoon. The Titans took both, 5-0 in game one and 12-0 in game two after five innings. (more)

 

Crusaders Blank 'Dons in Twinbill
IPFW falls to 3-21 after dropping two games at Valparaiso on Thursday. The Mastodons were swept 2-0 in the early game and 1-0 in the nightcap by the Crusaders. (more)



Spartans Take Two From 'Dons
The Michigan State Spartans came in a dominated Wednesday afternoon at the IPFW Softball Complex. The Mastodons dropped game one early after the Spartans posted 13 runs in five innings to finish, 13-2. Game two went the distance but with the Spartans on top once again, 7-0. (more)

Vargo's Walk-Off Grand Slam Lifts IPFW
IPFW freshman designated player Kayla Vargo drilled a one-out grand slam in the bottom of the 8th inning, to give the Mastodons a 7-3 win over Wright State on Friday afternoon at the IPFW Softball Field. (more)



Mastodons Drop Two
IPFW Softball dropped their last two games at the Rebel Games in Orlando, Florida on Friday. The 'Dons were defeated by Tennessee State, 4-3 and Columbia, 8-3. (more)

 

IPFW Hits a Rough Patch at Games
IPFW hit a rough spot, taking four losses at the Rebel Games on Wednesday and Thursday. The Softball team fell to Creighton, UMKC, St. Joseph's University, and Monmouth. (more)



'Dons Start Rebel Games 1-5
The IPFW softball team headed to sunny Orlando, Florida for a 12 game stretch at the Rebel Games. The 'Dons finished the first half of their week going 1-5, securing their first win of the season against Sacred Heart, 5-1. (more)

 

IPFW Takes Fourth at JU Invitational
IPFW started off their season on the road at the Jacksonville University/Best Western Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The 'Dons dropped all four games, taking fourth in the invitational. (more)
