Goal Enough for Butler
Fort
Wayne, IN- In a match that was highlighted by rough
play and wet conditions, the Butler Bulldogs shut-out the IPFW
men’s soccer team 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Hefner Soccer
Fields.
Butler got the game’s only goal at the 24-minute mark. Butler’s
Andrew Pancio dribbled into the box and ripped a shot to the
far post. IPFW goal keeper Peter Hachaj (Jr/Palatine, IL) dove
to his right and made a spectacular one-armed save, but no
one was there to clear the rebound, and Scott Olsen converted
into an open net.
Butler was called for 18 fouls as opposed to 12 for the Mastodons.
The Bulldogs were also given four yellow cards in the match.
With the loss, IPFW’s record is now even at 3-3, while the
Bulldogs improve to 2-1-1.
The men are back in action hosting Detroit on Friday (9/19)
at 7pm.
