Men’s Soccer Downs IUPUI

Indianapolis, IN- The IPFW men’s soccer team made it 2-0 on the young season with a 1-0 win over IUPUI in the “Pops Drayer Classic” at IUPUI.

The Mastodons got the game’s only goal in the eighth minute of the match as Andy Boesch (Fr/F/Fort Wayne/Homestead) hammered a loose ball in the box past IUPUI netminder Drew Deffner.

In cold and rainy conditions, IPFW goal keeper Peter Hachaj (Jr/Palatine, IL) turned away all three shots-on-goal he faced for his first shutout of the season.

IPFW and Western Michigan finished the tournament with identical 2-0 records, but Western Michigan was named champion due to tie breakers.
