Schiffman, Pantazi, and Hormann, OH MY! Fort Wayne, IN – The IPFW men’s basketball team will have an All-Star lineup announcing their games to fans in Fort Wayne this season. Randy Schiffman, Pat Hoffmann, and Brad Brown of WANE-TV Sports (CBS), will be handling the play-by-play and color analyst duties on UPN-74. IPFW will have 10 home games broadcast on the WANE-TV sister station this season. On the radio side, Sports Directors Dean Pantazi (WPTA-21, ABC) and Kent Hormann (WISE-TV, NBC) will handle the radio broadcasts on AM 1250-WGL. “In what is a truly unique situation, IPFW will be the only Division-I program in the country, in a Top-110 media market, to have all three television network sports directors broadcasting their men’s basketball games,” said Mark Pope, IPFW’s Director of Athletics. “We are very grateful to Dean, Kent, and Randy for their willingness to combine forces in broadcasting our games. Fort Wayne basketball fans have a real treat in store for this coming season.” Mike Maahs will once again be handling play-by-play duties on College 56 for IPFW Women’s Basketball. For the radio broadcasts in 2004-05 the Mastodons will have veteran play-by-play man Dean Jackson teaming up with Tommy Schoegler of WPTA-21 (ABC) on AM 1250-WGL. The IPFW men open the season on Monday, November 1st, with an exhibition game against Huntington College, at the Memorial Coliseum at 7pm. The Mastodon women begin exhibition play on Saturday, November 8th, hosting Marian College, at 3pm at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.
