2005 Balanced Scoring leads Utah Valley State to Win Orem, UT – Utah Valley State got double-figure nights from five players in their 74-57 win over IPFW, on Saturday night in Orem, Utah. The Wolverines (9-9) were led by sophomore forward David Heck with 17 points and nine rebounds. IPFW came out and threw a big punch early, going up 7-0 on UVSC, but by the end of the half, the Wolverines had erased that lead and built up an eleven point cushion of their own (37-26). Utah Valley would keep a comfortable lead until the 5:39 mark when sophomore forward Justin Hawkins drained a three, and IPFW was within five at 56-51. But, the Wolverines went on an 18-6 run to (11 points coming from the foul line), to seal the win. IPFW was led by senior center David Simon, who tied Heck, with a game-high 17 points. Junior forward Quintin Butler was the only other 'Don in double-figures with 11. The loss drops IPFW to 4-15. They return to action on Tuesday night (1/25), visiting Weber State.
