Eagles Knock Down Freebies to Top 'Dons

Morehead, KY - Morehead State went to the foul line 17 times over the final 6:33 of the game, converting 14 shots, to top IPFW, 64-52, Saturday night at Johnson Arena in Morehead, Kentucky.

The Eagles (4-1) led by four (46-42) at the 6:33 mark, and would go on an 18-10 run (once again,14 coming from the foul line) to finish the game winning by 12 points. For the game, Morehead State made the most of their time at the charity stripe, finishing the contest 20 of 27.

The Mastodons, who trailed by only four at the half (25-21) only made ten trips to the line, sinking just four.

IPFW was led by senior center David Simon (Vernon Hills, IL) with 15 points and nine rebounds. He was the only Mastodon to hit for double figures in the game. It was Simon's third double-figure game since returning from knee surgery.

Sophomore guard Quintin Carouthers (Flint, MI) chipped in nine in the loss, which was the 'Dons fourth consecutive.

MSU was led by forward Chad McKnight with a game-high twenty-two. Sophomore guard Josh Reed added eleven.

IPFW returns home for two games next week. They host Utah State, Tuesday night (12/7) and the University of Tennessee Martin, on Saturday (12/11). Both games have 7pm tipoffs.
