Simon's Big Night Not Enough

Edinburg, TX - Junior center David Simon scored 27 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, but the IPFW Mastodons went ice cold early in the second half, losing to the University of Texas-Pan American 81-60, Wednesday night at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

The Broncs erased a four-point IPFW lead, going on a 25-0 run over the final 3:47 of the first half, to the 15:01 mark of the second half to put the game out of reach.

The Mastodons (3-16) got eleven points from freshman guard Beau Bauer. Simon and Bauer were the only two 'Dons to hit in double-figures.

UTPA (6-13) had four players hit for double-figures, with Andrius Sakalys leading the way with seventeen.

IPFW continues its three-game road trip, on Saturday afternoon (1/31), with a 2pm game at Youngstown State.
