17, 2004 Islanders Hand 'Dons 9th Straight Loss Fort Wayne, IN- Despite registering four players in double figures, the IPFW men's baskeball team fell for the 9th straight time Saturday night, in a 77-73 loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi at the Memorial Coliseum. Once again, the Mastodons stay close in the ballgame, getting to within a bucket late, but failed to close the deal. Junior center David Simon (Vernon Hills, IL), mired in foul trouble most of the night, led the Mastodons in scoring again with 19 points. Freshman guard Beau Bauer (Walton, IN) recorded 18, senior Jim Kessenich (F/Pewaukee, WI) had 11, and freshman guard Byron Malone (Indianapolis, IN) had ten. TAMUCC (8-6) was led by Travis Bailey, who tossed in a game-high twenty-four. The Mastodons will try to snap the losing skid Monday night (1/19), hosting Tri-State at the Coliseum. Game time is 7pm.
