Men’s Basketball to Face Notre Dame

Hopkins’ “Three” Sinks Mastodons
Junior guard Ryan Hopkins’ three-pointer, with less than a minute remaining, lifted the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles to a 61-58 win over IPFW, Tuesday night at the Memorial Coliseum. (more)

 

Foul Shots Save Wright State
Wright State went to the foul line twenty-five times on Saturday night against the Mastodons. And, in the end it was two free throws that were the difference, as the Raiders came back to beat IPFW 66-64, at the Nutter Center. (more)

 

Mastodons Fall at IUPUI
The Mid-Con leading IUPUI Jaguars had little trouble with IPFW on Wednesday night, dropping the Mastodons to 3-20 on the season, with an 81-59 win. (more)

 

Mastodons Lose to Broncs by Two
Another close game at the Memorial Coliseum…another loss for the IPFW men’s basketball team. The Mastodons closed to within one, in the final three minutes Saturday, but eventually fell to the University of Texas-Pan American, 57-55. (more)

 

Bulldogs Send IPFW to 3rd Straight Loss

Simon's Big Night Not Enough
Junior center David Simon scored 27 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, but the IPFW Mastodons went ice cold early in the second half, losing to the University of Texas-Pan American 81-60, Wednesday night at the UTPA Fieldhouse. (more)


IPFW Snaps Skid
Maybe a little "fun & gun" was just what the doctor ordered for the IPFW men's basketball team. The Mastodons and Tri-State University Thunder staged a track meet at the Coliseum, Monday night, and at the finish line it was IPFW winning 93-81. (more)

 

Islanders Hand 'Dons 9th Straight Loss
Despite registering four players in double figures, the IPFW men's baskeball team fell for the 9th straight time Saturday night, in a 77-73 loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi at the Memorial Coliseum. (more)

After blowing out Marshall University by 25 points two nights ago, Western Michigan picked up right where they left off on Wednesday night, dropping IPFW 77-48 at University Arena. (more)

IPFW junior guard Terry Collins has been suspended indefinitely from the men's basketball team for "conduct detrimental to the team".

The Air Force Academy is off to their best start in the program's 48 year history. The Falcons improved to 9-2 with a 64-44 win over visiting IPFW, Friday night, at Clune Arena. (more)

 

Freshman Three Pointer Sinks 'Dons
Freshman guard Bryan Smithson's three-pointer with :51 left in regulation, broke a 65-65 tie, and sent Middle Tennessee State to a come-back 72-65 win over IPFW on Tuesday night at the Murphy Center. (more)

 

IPFW Loses on Buzzer Beater

The Purdue Boilermakers had a tough time getting rid of IPFW, in the second game of the 13th annual Boilermaker Classic on Saturday at Mackey Arena. But Mastodon foul trouble and a second half rush led to an 80-69 Purdue victory. (more)

The IPFW men’s basketball team used a 22-3 run in the second half to storm past Morehead State, Saturday night at the Memorial Coliseum, by the final of 78-75. (more)

An 18-5 run early in the second half, propelled the University of Arkansas-Little Rock to a 69-57 win over IPFW, Saturday night, in the consolation game of the Iowa State Cyclone Challenge, in Ames, Iowa.

Iowa State University, on the strength of a 15-6 run at the beginning of the second half, cruised past IPFW, 78-51 on Friday night in the opening round of the Iowa State Cyclone Challenge at Hilton Coliseum. (more)

 


WSU Guard Tandem Shoots down Mastodons
The Washington State Cougars got a combined 30 points from guards Thomas Kelati and Marcus Moore, in sending the IPFW men's basketball team to their fourth consecutive loss, 66-46 Monday night at Beasley Coliseum. (more)

 

'Dons Can't Hold off Beavers
The IPFW Mastodons out-rebounded Oregon State, they shot better than the Beavers, and led most of their game today at the Gill Coliseum. But, with a minute left in the game, OSU took the lead and held on for a 57-55 win. (more)

 

Kent State’s Prayer is Answered
Golden Flashes down IPFW on 40ft. Buzzer Beater
Three seconds. That is all that stood between IPFW and an upset that would have put them firmly on the NCAA basketball radar. But, a 40ft. three point prayer by DeAndre Haynes hit nothing but net, sending a stunned Memorial Coliseum crowd to the doors, with a 67-66 Kent State win. (more)

Michigan State, Syracuse, IPFW. Each have one thing in common, falling to the Harlem Globetrotters in exhibition action. The 'Trotters stormed in to Fort Wayne and left with their record unblemished with an 89-57 win. (more)

Coliseum, Globetrotters & Vitale – OH MY!
IPFW Athletics announced this afternoon that all of its Men’s Basketball games will be played at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum for the 2003-04 season. In addition, two Women’s Games will be played at the Coliseum, as doubleheaders with Men’s Games. (more)
