2005 Simon Named Independent Player of the Week Fort Wayne, IN – Senior center David Simon was named Division-I Men’s Basketball Independent Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Simon recorded a double-double in their loss against Texas Pan American. Simon had 24 points and 16 rebounds for the contest. He was 10 of 18 (.555) from the field and 4 of 6 (.666) from the charity stripe. For the week, Simon scored in the double figures in each of IPFW’s three losses. In three games last week Simon averaged 19.3 ppg and 8 rpg. Overall
he was 25 of 39 (.641) from the field and 8 of 14 (.571) from the
charity stripe. Simon also recorded six assists, eleven blocks and
two steals for the week.
