IPFW Falls to Eastern Michigan, 74-54

Ypsilanti, MI – The Eastern Michigan Eagles hosted the pre-Super Bowl party at the Convocation Center Sunday afternoon against the Dons. The Eagles had as much as a 13 point lead, but finished the half ahead, 36-26.

In the second, the Dons cut the lead down to just 3 points at just under the 12 minute mark in the game. The Eagles went on a 15-8 run and took down the Dons with a final score of 74-54.

Senior center David Simon posted 19 points and 6 blocks for the afternoon. Simon was 8 of 11 from the field and had five boards. Sophomore guard Quintin Carouthers had 12 points and was 5 of 9 from the field.

Sophomore guard Beau Bauer recorded seven rebounds and two steals to go along with his eight points. Sophomore forward Justin Hawkins had five boards for the afternoon.

For the Eagles, John Bowler recorded the only double-double for the afternoon with 14 points and 12 boards. Michael Ross chipped in 14 points, Danny McElhinny had 11 and James Jackson had 10 points for the afternoon.

The Dons are at home this Thursday, February 10 versus the Bears of Northern Colorado with a start time of 8 pm at the Memorial Coliseum.
