Men's Basketball

Fort Wayne, IN– For the second consecutive year, IPFW senior center David Simon has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Basketball Team, as selected by the CoSIDA District V Team.

Simon, who is a chemistry/pre-med major, has an overall grade point average of 3.32. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must possess a GPA of at least 3.2 and be a significant contributor to his team's overall performance.

Simon, and the four other players selected, will now advance to a national ballot.

CoSIDA region V includes universities in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, as well as the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba in Canada.

This is the first year that ESPN The Magazine has sponsored the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-America program.
