2004-05 Season:
Carouthers shook of the effects of his red-shirt season to have his best year ever as a Mastodons. "Q" started all 29 of IPFW's games in 04-05, averaging 8.4 points and 3.7 rebounds a contest. Scored a season-high 19 points in IPFW's 71-63 win over Northern Colorado, at the Coliseum on 2/10/05. Scoring in double-figures eleven times during the year. Had a season-high ten rebounds against Grand Valley State to open the season, on Homecoming. Averaged over 31 minutes a contest, while shooting 38-percent from the floor and 71-percent from the line. Carouthers was 4th on the team in scoring (8.4 ppg) and 3rd on the team in steals (23).



2003-04 Season:
Carouthers, who showed flashes of brilliance early on in the season, was lost to a season-ending shoulder injury against Bowling Green. Started five of the six games he played in. Averaging 4.7 points per game with 3.2 rebounds. Logged 26 minutes of action per contest, and shot 38 percent from the field. Scored a season-high nine points against Toledo on opening night. Grabbed a season-high six rebounds against Oregon State. Carouthers is healthy again, and will be called upon to make a huge contribution this season.


2002-03 Season:
Carouthers averaged 2.7 points and 1.5 rebounds a game…He played in all 30 games acquiring 14.1 minutes per game and starting in seven… He scored a career/season high 10 points at UNLV (01/03/03) (5-of-5 from the field)…Has scored in double digits only once against UNLV (01/02/03)...Carouthers shot 29-of-80 (.363) from the floor and 3-of-22 (.136) from the arc…At the free throw line he was 19-of-29 (.655)…During the 30 games he collected seven blocked shots, 21 assists, and 23 steals.


Before Coming to IPFW:
Carouthers a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Flint Central High School was considered by many as one of the states best shooting guards, behind Ricardo Billings and Maurice Ager (who have committed to Ohio State and Michigan State). Carouthers led Flint Central to become 2001-2002 City Champions. He averaged 13.5 points per game, shooting 40 percent from behind the three-point arc. He also led the team in blocked shots with 23, and was among team leaders in rebounds with 98 (4.1 rebounds per game) and steals with 36 earning the teams Best Defender Award. As for other accolades, Carouthers was a first team selection on Flint’s All-City Basketball Team as well as the All-Saginaw Valley Team. He was selected to the Basketball Coaches’ Association of Michigan (BCAM) All-Star Team. In addition, Carouthers was also nominated to the McDonald’s All American High School Basketball Team.
