Simon Headed Back to Pre-Draft Camp

Chicago, IL – According to his agent Mike Naiditch, former IPFW center David Simon has again been invited to attend the NBA Pre-Draft camp.

Simon (Vernon Hills, IL), who ended his career with the Mastodons this past March, participated in the Portsmouth (Virginia) NBA camp in April. His team ended up winning that camp's round-robin tournament.

The Chicago NBA-Pre Draft camp will be held at Moody Bible Institute, June 7-10. The event is not open to the public.

It will be the second consecutive year that Simon has participated in the camp. Last year, he injured a knee on the camp's final day, and decided to return to IPFW for his senior season.

The NBA Draft will be held on June 28th. Simon is not currently listed on any of the major sites that have listed mock draft orders, but that could all change with a strong Chicago camp.

Simon was heavily scouted last season by a number of NBA teams because of his size and shooting touch. He finished 3rd in the Nation in scoring at the center position (16.6 ppg), but is projected as a power forward in the NBA.
