Advising & Academics

Academic Help

The College of Arts and Sciences offers a wide range of assistance for current and prospective students. Forms such as major change request, completion of an incomplete grade, partial late withdraw and minor request forms can be handled with the office (along with your major's department). Readmission applications, academic probation and graduation audits are also taken care of here.

Readmission

Students who were first placed on academic probation at IPFW and have now been dismissed from the university because of unsatisfactory grades are urged to evaluate carefully their interests, abilities, and goals. This time away provides a valuable opportunity for such individuals to assess educational goals, resolve any personal concerns that may have interfered with their ability to be a successful students, and improve academic skills.

For students who have been dismissed from IPFW, any campus of Indiana University, or any campus of Purdue University the following apply:

  • The student must remain out of school through at least the following spring or fall semester. Readmission to the General Studies Program may not be sought for at least one calendar year from the student's dismissal date.

  • The student may seek readmission for any subsequent semester.

  • At IPFW, students are not eligible to enroll in any classes through either Indiana University or Purdue University until they have applied for readmission and their application has been approved.

The application form (in the Liberal Arts Building, Room 153) should be filled out completely and returned. All materials along with a copy of the non-refundable $100 readmission fee (paid at the Bursar's Office) must be received by the college on or before these deadlines:

  • For fall semesters: July 1
  • For spring semesters: November 1
